So, the difference between machining center and drilling and tapping center

CNC machining center is mainly to heavy cutting, torque is greater, spindle low is BT40, speed displacement is slower, no drilling and tapping fast, drilling speed is not high-speed. More brands: DMG, Mori Seiki, Hattin, Weiya, Shire CNC, etc.

Drilling and tapping center is mainly for light cutting, set drilling, tapping, milling as a whole. Torque is relatively small machining center, but high speed, displacement speed, spindle is basically in BT30; mainly processing non-ferrous metals, such as: aluminum alloy die-casting, aluminum parts, copper electrodes, etc.. The main brands in the market, Japan Brother, Japan Fanuc, Sirp CNC, etc.

The design of drilling and tapping center fixture should be considered.

1, the weight of the equipment: equipment load bearing determines the final weight of our fixture is very limited, especially the four-axis fixture, because the four-axis itself to take up more than the general weight, so we fixture requirements are very high, is the volume of the fixture, we must also adapt to the machine by reducing the weight of the way, too heavy fixture will lead to machine alarms, overload operation, poor precision, etc.

2, the stroke of the equipment: drilling and tapping center in general, the stroke is mainly limited to the Z-axis direction, and this parameter is generally very limited, so most of our drilling and tapping center machine tools will require manufacturers to raise the Z-axis 100-250, mainly to adapt to their respective products to consider this issue, if the design process does not take into account the stroke of this parameter, it is very likely to cause certain parts of the product can not be processed, tool changes appear Interference, etc., agree that the X and Y axis we also need to consider whether the product is enough travel can be processed.

3, the table: drilling and tapping center table is much smaller than the machining center, so we need to design the fixture volume design as small as possible, so that the fixture can be placed as far as possible in the table, especially against the column side, we generally do not let the edge of the fixture exposed against the column side, it is very easy to cause interference (this also applies to machining centers)
